I'm all for making things if I can, and using what I have on hand to make it with, rather than going out and paying more than I have to for something so simple.
Today I offer a pen-holder solution for anyone who has a Fauxdori/Midori type journal (or really ANY journal).
All I did was take your standard, large paper clip (preferably the larger the better, but I suppose it could be used with smaller clips too). Then I bent the end slightly (I'd say maybe 45 degrees). I slipped it onto my book, and voila! Instant pen holder.
