However, I thought I'd take a moment to share what I DID get done with my book. While I'm not happy with the lack of color, I think this will perhaps be my permanent book.
This will be one of the very RARE times I upload a video. Most of the time blogger is very slow at uploading movies, and my internet is not very data friendly, but because I have a lot to show, and I don't have a way to do a slideshow of only specific pictures unless I upload them to something like photobucket or whatever, I thought I'd just movie it.
The point in the video where it says "Grimoire" is the "secret" book part on the inside. This is where I will store my Rituals and Spells.
Of course it's a work in progress, and I suspect it will take me probably a couple of years to complete (as a book should). I'm a very picky person. Little teeny things pick at me and when I can't figure out how to work it, I obsess to the point of frustration sometimes, so adding decoration, smashing, borders, etc are going to elude me until I figure it out finally. I hate being a perfectionist when it comes to creations lol.
Do you use a program for your ornate pages? They're beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliment. The answer to your question is yes AND no. I use a program to HELP me to create my pages; I use a program called "Paint Shop Pro" from the Corel Company. I find borders on the internet (i.e. some of the borders came from "clipart etc." and the "Charmed" book of shadows, I found the pages on a facebook group that provides both complete and blank pages, the title page I borrowed from "sandgroan" on deviantart.com), and I added the content using the text feature. I choose the font I think fits the content and add it to the border. I then printed out the pages, cut them to fit the book and glued them in.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, some pages are straight prints from online. My pages on "Moon Goddesses" and "Nine Healing Herbs" are posters I resized to fit my pages.
