Ok, this was a tag from YouTube, but I borrowed the questions and decided to put it here. I'm not going to do a video 1) because I don't have a very good camera, and at the moment, it's VERY late in the night and any camera I use is going to have VERY poor quality anyways, so there's no point in doing a video now...and 2) because it takes up a LOT of data to upload a video. So I'll just type it all out. Easier this way anyways...I'm not much for making videos...I find I sound so stupid on a video lmao.
Anyways, on to the questions:
1 What is your natural hair type, color and length?
--My natural hair type is thick, somewhat smooth/somewhat coarse (depending on the weather). It's a pain in the butt sometimes because sometimes it will hold a hair style, other times it'll fight me. My natural color is like a chestnut brown. A lot of people call it black, but there is a DISTINCT difference between my hair color...and black, and it IS noticable. If I stand next to someone with black hair, you can notice the difference. One of my major pet peeves is when people tell me I have black hair, when I don't (not sure why it bother's me so much).
I have never colored my hair in my life!!! No joking here!
I have no idea what my length is...I do know it's currently roughly at the small-of-my-back...I'd say roughly 25 inches (though I used a ruler to see, lmao. You use what you have on hand lol)
2 Tell us about your haircut. Do you cut it yourself or go to a salon? How many layers do you have?
-- My last hair cut (which was like a year and some months ago) was a TERRIBLE layer job (I'll never let a man cut my hair again). I haven't been to a stylist yet. I have bangs that I cut myself, because I'm not spending almost $20 just to get a $5 bang cut, but soon I'll have to get a trim (and I don't really want to because I'm trying to let it grow).
I couldn't tell you how many layers I have...maybe like 3 in back and then my bangs, so I suppose 4 layers????
3 What hair brush or combs do you use?
--I had a regular style 2 inch wide brush I bought at the dollar store, that I used to use to brush my hair, but I just purchased a "Goody" paddle brush, and LOVE it. Felt so good when I brushed my hair with it. I also use a standard pointed comb (found in any cheap store with a "beauty" section). I use it only to comb my bangs and to separate my hair. I also have a sparsly bristled brush...with holes in it for blow drying my hair. I desperately need a new one, but keep forgetting when I go to the store. In the shower I have a wide toothed comb that I use to comb conditioner through my hair. I think that's about it.
4 Favorite hair accessory? Where did it come from?
--Right now? My favorite hair accessory would have to be my big hair pins I made from double-pointed knitting needles. They're so great to use when I just want my hair out of my way and don't want a pony tail. Other than that I mostly use "Ouchless" elastics (ouchless my butt, get the glued section in the wrong spot and it STILL pulls my hair)
5 What is your favorite way to wear your hair?
--As "TorrinPage" said...favorite or most common way to wear my hair? I have three styles I use most depending on my mood. 1) A cheap version of a french twist in which I use a barrette to hold (and because my hair is so thick, I have to bend the barrette to get it on to my hair). 2) Standard pony tail...when I'm in a hurry...quick up-do with an elastic and I'm on my way; and 3) a bun using my homemade hair pins. All three are SUPER quick to do and get all my hair out of my way
Now as for my favorite way to wear my hair (as opposed to the most common way)...my "Endor" style. Sometimes I omit the braided headband, but because it's so simple, and looks so pretty, that's how I like to wear it.
6 Favorite shampoo and conditioner?
--At the moment I'm in a "Pantene" phase. Sometimes I go through a product line phases where all my hair products are from the same line. A few years ago I was on a "Herbal Essence" kick; then I was on to "Dove"...now I'm on Pantene...it seemed like Pantene was doing really well on my hair, but I just washed it...and it feels rather straw-like...not sure what's going on there.
7 Favorite hair oil, leave in conditioner, detangler, etc.?
--Right now...because I'm JUST starting on trying to grow my hair...I haven't gotten any oils or anything like that to "nourish" my hair. So at the moment, I have no favorite oil that I use (though when I do go to get oil for my hair, I think I'll take TorrinPage's advice and try the Coconut oil (I have damaged ends I want to repair). I don't normally use detangler...but when I do, it's usually another Pantene product (I'm faithful that way). I just bought Pantene's intense restoration for my hair...I suppose it's like another type of conditioner (like I said, I have damaged ends I want to repair)
8 Do you wash your hair everyday?
--No. Typically I wait for my hair to get greasy before I wash it. Washing your hair every day is bad for your hair and washes out the essential natural oils your hair needs.
9 How do you wear your hair to bed?
--I wear it down. Sometimes, when I don't want my husband laying on it, I'll put it in a braid or two...but I don't do that often because I don't want waves (my hair has natural waves and they drive me crazy).
10 Do you use heat tools like a hair dryer, straightener or curling iron? How often?
--I do...but not very often. When I don't want my waves coming out, I use my hair dryer, and I'll use it maybe once every 2-3 weeks. When I want my hair REALLY straight, I'll use my straightener (which is like maybe once a month). I've tried using curling irons, but the curls never say, so I don't bother with it anymore.
11 What are your two favorite hair tips?
--I don't think I have any really profound tips. Don't wash your hair every day, always brush after you wake up and before bed. Just standard common sense, I suppose.
12 What is your hair length goal?
--I'm not really sure...I just want to see how long I can get it to grow...but I think if my hair makes it to my 'ahem'...behind, I think I'll be happy.
This was fun. I wish I had better responses to these questions, but I think I did fairly well.
